Aura plug in light create a new master item in system to make the future process simpler. Mina will communicate with Hussain on wiki updates once name confirmed and the process we will follow with timings.

100 pcs initial stock pieces and Michele to work together with Yoshi for purchase order. Flock still being worked out, but estimate for production quantities (possibly 2nd PO). After that hand over completely to Michele.

Decided to go with lead time storing in GL. Mina requested invoice for the PO from Coffey, once we pay they can start production.

Not suitable to add light colour update at this late stage. Looking to see if the supplier has an option to change from ‘cool to warm’ light and can’t implement possibly integrate with Home Automation Systems - this will cost $300K, Dylan need to discuss with SLT. Coffey also possibly has an option but with King App is preference. DK has requested that we don’t do the expensive option, possibly a King Lighting App only which is managed by someone else.

Mina and Jordan should start discussions with Infinite luxe and research other companies for price/feature comparisons to ensure we know what we’re talking about with Coffey. @Mina Bassilious (Unlicensed) will speak to Dylan about white label apps that we can possibly rebrand as well. Then we can go back to DK with 3 options, no brand, rebrand and Ingenuity.

In terms of production readiness for flock is very much PO dependent. Mina will push Yoshi to send purchase order once design is finalised.

Costings arrived, send to Michele, but still awaiting tooling (off tool parts) but will let Michele/Damo know about initial costings.

WINTER- even with airfreight will be late due to production lead time. Product sample not completed yet.

Weight is important (consider plastic or reduce alu material). Mechanical vertical movement mech remote operation direction now (single ceiling point), Jordan will start the conversation with Coffey. App integration is dumbed down for cost purposes- see above (Solaire).

@jordan will did some work on the modular version to explain to DK the number of wires visible and complexity of electrician set up. Will render one version and send to DK. Idea is individual pendants that magnetise together but are powered separately (electrician joins in ceiling to use one switch on the wall). Need an end cap- put aside until gap in firefly timeline.

Tooling is one month minimum, which means sample needed ASAP. Tanya has followed up Shiyang for added pressure on supplier.

COUNTER STOOL: Shorter frame approved and will be incorporated into Timber stool, same base concept used for mesh stool.

Prototype had issues and it wasn’t great. Mina will make new steel prototype to verify the comfort and folding mechanism. Asked Engineers, theoretically they said need to keep hollow for mandrel bending, but can increase wall thickness if required (tool update). Or use similar wall thickness tube for mandrel bending. Also- for seat side aluminium, under too much stress so make an oval form for strength, if still not strong then change the cross brace component to stainless steel for increased strength.

Mina will ask GL to give ball park quotation on both versions (stainless cross frame and aluminum thicker wall frame).

Sling cover sample 1 completed. Highlighted comfort issues in frame form. Zipper was used need to test strength, also fabric stretched. Highlighting that we need stronger batylene, or layer up with stronger fabrics quilted.

Plan to go to prototype tooling ASAP (after 1 month extrusion tooling ready). This then needs to tested in press tools, with aluminium bounce back would expect issues, but minimal 2 weeks for tweaking. This is with press tool starting at same time as extrusion tooling.

Welding testing with off tool samples for aesthetics, strength and manufacturability after extrusion tool completed.

Even minimising the sling cover prototyping time (1 week) we are in early september for production start. Even if we start tooling after quoting immediately, we are still mid July for off tool components.

Need to work out using off tool components all the small mechs at this point as well.

Even if we buy off the shelf extrusion, we need to make 4 weeks for press tool + 2 weeks for tweaking.

Mina not interested in weeks of workshop time to make the photoshoot items which will not be useful for product release and will slow that down.

Coupling feature for the tension rods, Mina has designed a good concept, will speak to Alinta/Shiyang on moulding capabilities of it.

@Mina Bassilious (Unlicensed) designing the middle pivot point feature- has designed 2 options, one is push fit risky as might not be rattle free and tight enough hold. The Screw fit concept is complex assembly and manufacturing process but tight once in position. We prefer press fit knock-in method.

Order the extrusion tooling after discussing with Engineers.

Mina will start quotation process for extrusion tooling today to try to speed up the tooling start time if we make no changes.

DK has emailed a new brief, need to catch up with him this week.

Sun lounge frame for GL - GL has CAD. Shiyang shows enthusiasm to get it done.

Cabana seat cushion reticulated seat with mesh cover (no glue) completed. DK liked it. Mesh cover seems a success so far. Hot glue to provide extra strength to hold. - costing before end of the week. Possibly high costs in the mesh, hot glue only is the back up plan but harder for the factory.

Powder coat samples arrived into TH. Gloss level wrong, ask Nan to take middle sample from GL (varying GL versions) get supplier to match. DK happy with a higher gloss level sample but Alinta will continue to push the TH team to get a GL match as well. Alinta to follow up Nan as only Jason/DK have seen.

Magic joiners are not functioning without frame alterations, we think investigating velcro joiners is out because of DK. Ratchet foot cup/leg loop solution and the steel extra screwing into the frame underside.

Ordered rubber bands and leg velcro joiners for testing, hopefully one of these options works out as a temp flock solution at the very least. Currently the cup is underway but off the shelf solution is the priority. Stefan understands the issue on the legs lining up issue and he needs to play around with the CAD as we can’t open the newer files.

Live project tracker has been put together by Seb, Wichai needs to populate and then we will have access.

Zara testing 2 options at the moment, cut curve foam and wrapping singe layer over square cut foam like Zaza. Cheaper foam has been located, need James Pudney to check it (get Shiyang to follow up).

Super soft foam exploration

DK wants to explore using a super soft foam which is high density to replace dacron in some circumstances. Seen it at Cassina.

The team found a foam to replace LT48, rejected because they didn’t understand the purpose of the foam, as a backup supplier. It wasn’t as good as LT48 so they rejected it. Perhaps they misunderstood the brief.

Tanya to ask DK for more details.

Plastic injection moulding for legs underway- due in GL 7th May, 2 weeks for veneering. Due in Thailand 29th May. Have not shipped out yet, won’t ship out from GL until mid June. Shouldn’t negatively impact customer timelines. Plastic legs fit well, after welding jigs were corrected.

First production week in TH at the latest 2325- June 12th. Tight turnaround on production but after off tool leg test was successful, don’t anticipate issues. Ponti to communicate to Shiyang that can’t afford any more leg delays or GL will be the cause of further delay.

Production was meant to be starting this week in Thailand. Tanya to ask DK if it’s suitable for these orders at least.

Gam made some updates to the patterns including automotive closure.

Requested packaging testing, awaiting feedback.

Requested die lines for die lines in order to start packaging artwork, awaiting Wichai still.

DK sent a video of the product and some images, Ryan will try to Beta photoshop app for managers meeting.

Working on multiple avenues at the moment, custom supplier parts and in house version. DK pushed for in house again, Shiyang has big concerns which have been communicated with DK. We will push ahead in any case and Cecco make a sample of timber components.

Ryan asked Shiyang to sign off on the butterfly mech with UZ 14/06

Had some supplier hiccups on timeline issues currently looking at 3-4 weeks late for UK, CA- 2-3 weeks late, VicQld 1-2 weeks late. Will assess again closer to the and do our best to claw time back.

Prototype time 6.5 weeks which has begun, quotation approved, approx $1000 higher than the fixed table. Payment for sample has been processed. UZ prototype expected due date is July 10-16th. June 24th is new sample date from speedy new Shanghai supplier, but we don’t have as much faith in this version. It’s a back up plan. They have signed NDA and agreement already.

UZ a bit disappointing but Shengshen is promising so far. The timber work is decent.

Ponti meeting with Tony D. as well to manage number of drivers for lift etc. Will ask Tony to pass onto his team members, they worked it out.

Starting on motor addition, purchasing at GL have ordered custom linear actuator for slide mech., rotational motor still in discussions.

Latest quotes from UZ home for manual extension table are walnut $2974 AUD and $2345 AUD for Congo/Smoked oak. Shangsheng is approx. $400 cheaper for walnut version.

Shiyang currently working on the gas strut/catch component for the nice to have feature. Nothing has happened, need to step back and have a blue sky brainstorming session.

In house installation of mechanism - Ryan will start Shiyang on this.

Samples with suppliers soon, currently reviewing Yabo drawings, so far suitable. DK has approved with improvements to the seat inlay. GL to send a steel seat frame to Yabo. Work on the sample from Yabo in GL to improve cover once received.

Plan to have a seat insert manufactured in GL and assembled in Customers home. +/- 3mm tolerance on the chairs is achievable which will assist in this process. Aware it’s very risky and will be putting a lot of work into minimising risk in order to get max benefit.

LIGHT TIMBER COLOUR OPTION/ Master stain update

Trying to create King master colours across the board, as well as new lighter colour.

Pearson has ideas on using Ash instead of Red Oak across the board, it’s cheaper and more durable. Pearson will speak to GL team to get some sampling moving along. Cecco is remaking some samples, Oil based was used instead of water based, so needed to redo. Fingers crossed it will be faster this time (not 6 weeks like last time). Only Cecco currently looking at light timber option as they are our main solid timber supplier and they use the best water based finished.

Veneer sample master underway with one supplier currently. Pearson will follow up. GL purchasing team assisting with this to try to bring all finishes into line together to match colours better.

UZ samples underway to ensure timber finishes from them match.
