MATERIALS |
---|
Leather is a natural material. Over time slight wrinkles may become visible as the material stretches and wears with use. |
Pilling or balling occurs on any fabric as a natural result of friction when it rubs against other fibres or skin, and is not considered a fault. As the fabric surface is rubbed, a single small group of loose fibres on the surface begins to twist upon itself, forming tiny balls or “pills”. It is seen more in fabrics that are synthetic, have a looser weave construction or where the fibres have a lower degree of twist. Removal of pilling with a Fabric Pill Remover is safe and does not affect the quality of the fabric. Regular vacuuming and cleaning will remove dirt and grime and any loose fibres which will help prevent the pills forming. All our foam are CertiPUR-US certified. We have also been granted Sensitive Choice approval for all our soft furnishings both here and overseas. |
All the feathers we specify are ethically sourced, small white feathers of an ultra-high grade. These feathers are selected to provide a premium level of comfort and long-lasting performance. As a natural product, our feathers are often preferred by customers with specific allergies or sensitivities to chemicals. They are cleaned and prepared with non-toxic cleaning agents, meeting strict government-certified standards. Our feather supplier adheres to two key standards: IDFL certification and the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), ensuring ethical and responsible sourcing practices. IDFL Certification ensures that down and feather products are ethically sourced and fully traceable through the supply chain, right back to the parent farm. This certification enforces humane animal treatment and ensures that workers are treated fairly in safe, clean facilities. The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) promotes the humane treatment of ducks and geese throughout the down and feather industry. RDS certification provides reliable assurance that animals are treated with care at all stages of the supply chain. We have had customers in the past request for the cushions to be made with just ultra-down, we found that the comfort of the sofa was significantly compromised. The cushion insert can be taken to an upholsterer to have new inserts made up to the customers comfort specifications. That way if the customer prefers a firmer feel back cushion this can be made to spec and be designed to fit the opening of our cushion cover. |
We are aware of the issue relating to pinking of covers and are actively looking into it. QC team recommended CS to provide replacement covers, until we find a fix. Replacement covers resolves the issue in some cases. If pink stains appear again on the replacement covers, we recommend to fully replace the unit, and this usually solves the problem. The replacement unit should resolve the pinking issue, but we cannot guarantee it 100%. Last update: (16/10/2024) |

Scratching and marking of floors can be a result of the furniture being dragged or moved over a polished floor. Most King furniture designs have soft polymer caps or feet that allow the furniture to be easily moved over virtually any floor surface. However, highly polished floors may require extra protection to avoid scratching. For extra protection, soft adhesvie pads can be adhered to the underside of the existing caps. Lifting the furniture is preferable to dragging. |
The only difference between the Serenade and the Symphony is the bed head. The base components are identical. The Symphony storage beds elegantly upholstered bedheads wraps around the corners of the bed for a cozy and luxurious look, whilst the Serenade bedhead offers a flatter, more slimline look. |
Yes, however, you need to keep in mind that as the bed is lifted manually, weight becomes a factor for the operator. The mattress weights should not exceed the following; King - 80kg Queen - 55kg Double - 50kg King Single - 45kg |
Ask the customer to take a photo of the parts. With this, you can identify if there are new parts mixed with old parts e.g the new Serenade design has pins and R-clips to hold together. If required, spare parts are available to complete the set. |
Bed brackets have a deliberate bend in them. This makes them quite hard to push in when new but means they won’t slip out when used as a bed. Some extra force might be required to insert them especially for the first time. Don’t worry, you won’t break anything by pushing the brackets in firmly. Use a rubber hammer if they have not been used for some time. Obviously with constant use they will become easier. |
King beds have a maximum weight capacity of 400kg, including the weight of adults and the mattress. |

Q - Why there are different fabric limitations for all of them i.e., 1977 can only have Element, whereas Aura can have Element and Pearl Beach - what decides the limitations? A - It rests with the stretch rate of the individual fabrics. 1977 can only use stretch fabrics with the current cover seam design in order to smoothly curve around the products contours, the only stretch fabric available in our range is currently Element. Aura is a curvy product which tailors beautifully with fabrics which have some stretch such as Element but is also able to just work with most non-stretch fabrics, hence why we are offering in both stretch and non-stretch options. The other more square items are more suited aesthetically to woven fabric styles and tailor well with their straighter sided forms in the non-stretch fabrics. We have also put energy into ensuring that the fabrics which look the best on each product are what is made available, this would be the best way to phrase it to the customer, as we’d rather not have our competitors aware of the stretch nature of our fabrics. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q - A common material used on outdoor pieces is either made of aluminum alloy or galvanized metal in powder coated. Regarding aluminum, it is important to know the thickness of alloy as it speaks of durability. Powder-coating comes in about 6 methods, which are we adopting in our manufacturing process? A - We use a newly improved outdoor suitable powder coat powder for all of our outdoor products. The under coating and preparation processes differ between each product depending on the specific requirements of the piece and material type utilised. Regarding the Aluminium, we use several different tube thicknesses depending on which is best suited the particular application to ensure our products are meeting our strict King Quality requirements. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q - For Products that uses outdoor timber. What wood is being used? Tropical or Scandi wood? Can it be revarnished by 3rd party after years? Are they engineered or solid wood? A - We are only offering solid teak sourced from plantations in Thailand in our outdoor timber product offerings. Please refer to the teak care guide. We don’t currently have a 3rd party maintenance team setup for timber, but we would recommend that the customer contact a handyman or similar to assist if they didn’t want to do the maintenance themselves. Teak is a beautiful natural product that is very durable in the outdoor environment, but will turn to a natural silvery-grey patina over time through exposure to the elements. If the customer would prefer the product to stay the original colour we recommend regular maintenance and following the teak care guide. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q - Which product is suitable for the outdoor fabric choice colour upgrade at this time? Unfortunately, the Plateau Outdoor Sofa is the only product suitable for the outdoor fabric choice colour upgrade at this time. The Plateau Outdoor sofa has been expertly designed to maximize the benefits of drain-through fabrics, courtesy of its reticulated foam construction, our design evaluation has confirmed that the integration of non-drain-through fabrics will in no way compromise the product's integrity or performance. This addition primarily serves to augment the palette of colour choices available to our discerning customers. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q - How will the outdoor products last in elements: Rain, wind, humidity. The Outdoor range It is designed to withstand the elements for many years, however the length of time depends on the exact circumstances of each products location and the care and maintenance provided. Much like a car, if it is not kept well maintained and regularly cleaned it will not last as long as a well maintained product. Any debris that falls onto the product should be cleaned off as soon as possible, and we recommend covering with a WeatherGuard between uses. Please ensure that the product is clean and dry before covering with a WeatherGuard. The product can get wet, and will dry through with time, the time is highly dependent on the temperature and weather at the specific location, it could be compared to the time differences in drying clothing on a washing line at different times of the year, a very hot day vs. a cold cloudy day. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q: What is the closest powdercoat colour to salt? A: Dulux surf mist can be purchased for minor touch-ups https://www.dulux.com.au/colour/colorbond/colorbond-surfmist/ | ||||||||||||||||||||
Q: Can I use WeatherGuards for indoor products? A: Yes, Weatherguards can be used as a dust cover for indoor products; however, Indoor products are not designed for outdoor use. While Weatherguards can serve as a light protective barrier against dust and the elements, leaving any indoor product outdoors is not advisable. Indoor products lack outdoor-grade powder coating, and indoor foams are susceptible to mold and other weather-related damage if left outdoors. | ||||||||||||||||||||

Q - How does the recent WorkSafe legislation on engineered stone affect the use of finished products, and what measures are in place to ensure safety? A -The recent WorkSafe legislation banning the use of engineered stone in specific applications, such as kitchen or bathroom benchtops, does not apply to finished products like those in our Quay range. The ban addresses the risk of silicosis from cutting or working with engineered stone without proper safety equipment. Finished products remain safe to use and are excluded from the ban. As safety is a priority, we only work with factories that have the necessary equipment and training in place to cut and work with these products safely. |
Q - What are the results of the tests conducted on the Quay range's resistance to wet heat and various cold liquids, and what recommendations are made for the use of extremely hot items? A - Resistance to wet heat (eg, leaving a coffee cup or similar on the table) until it fully cooled was quite good, with no visible change noticed after the completion of the test. This is done at a temperature of 70 degrees, which is a standard for most domestic product (commercial usually done at 80 - 100 degrees for industrial). What it means is it is very unlikely to leave coffee cup rings or similar on the table, especially if only left for a short period of time. We should still be recommending to use a cork pad or similar if extremely hot items are being placed directly on the table. What we should be recommending to customers to remove any spills from the table as soon as possible. Within an hour some substances can cause significant changes to the surface through etching or leaching colour into the substrate. |
Q - Where can I find the Marble and Natural Stone Care Brochure? A - KL_Marble_Natural_Stone_Care_Brochure_297x210_18.02.2021 (1).pdf (sharepoint.com) |
