titleWhy is my product pilling?

Pilling or balling occurs on any fabric as a natural result of friction when it rubs against other fibres or skin, and is not considered a fault. As the fabric surface is rubbed, a single small group of loose fibres on the surface begins to twist upon itself, forming tiny balls or “pills”. It is seen more in fabrics that are synthetic, have a looser weave construction or where the fibres have a lower degree of twist. Removal of pilling with a Fabric Pill Remover is safe and does not affect the quality of the fabric. Regular vacuuming and cleaning will remove dirt and grime and any loose fibres which will help prevent the pills forming.

titleAre the feather cushions suitable for someone with allergies and what are the alternatives?

All the feathers we specify are ethically sourced, small white feathers of an ultra-high grade. Our feathers are chosen to ensure a premium level of comfort and enduring performance. Being a natural product, our feathers are often preferred by customers with specific allergies or chemical sensitivities. All our feathers are cleaned and prepared with non-toxic cleaning agents, complying with strict standards which are government-certified. Additionally, our feather supplier complies with IDFL and RDS, ensuring ethical and responsible sourcing.

IDFL’s Traceability Audit System involves rigorous audits and inspections of the entire supply chain, from the parent farm to the end retailer, ensuring adherence to the IDFL Down Standard. The IDS Certification verifies that down and feather products are ethically sourced and traceable through the supply chain back to the parent farm. Humane treatment of animals is strictly enforced, and workers are ensured fair treatment in safe, clean facilities.

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is a voluntary standard designed to promote the humane treatment of ducks and geese within the down and feather industry. RDS offers a reliable assurance that animals are treated with care throughout the supply chain.

We have had customers in the past request for the cushions to be made with just ultra-down, we found that the comfort of the sofa was significantly compromised. The cushion insert can be taken to an upholsterer to have new inserts made up to the customers comfort specifications. That way if the customer prefers a firmer feel back cushion this can be made to spec and be designed to fit the opening of our cushion cover.

titleWhy are my covers pinking?

We are aware of the issue relating to pinking of covers and are actively looking into it. QC team recommended CS to provide replacement covers, until we find a fix. Replacement covers resolves the issue in some cases.

If pink stains appear again on the replacement covers, we recommend to fully replace the unit, and this usually solves the problem.

The replacement unit should resolve the pinking issue, but we cannot guarantee it 100%.
