The Tasman Dining Chair champions solid timber and technical craftsmanship to create a design that is visually clean yet rich with subtle detailing. A sophisticated palette of materials focuses on creating a sense of luxury throughout all the touchpoints on the chair, from the texture of the wood grain to the warmth of the leather. Ergonomic comfort has been built into the design through the combination of the angled backrest and the steel postureflex frame hidden within the upholstered seat base.

The chair is paired with the Magnolia dining table. Proportionally, the collection has a smaller footprint than other King dining collections.

Styling and Concept

The materiality of Tasman brings the natural world into the home through the warmth of real timber. With smaller interiors in mind, the range has been designed to be visually ‘light’. An example of this is the open back of the chair that allows light into the space.

Inspired by the traditional vernacular of a Chiavari-style chair, the Tasman Chair revisits this dated look to create a chair with clean, tailored lines and exceptional comfort.

Design Breakdown

Timber frame
The frame uses a combination for durable time joints for strength and longevity.

Steel seat frame
Steel frame is attached to the inside of the timber frame for comfort and added strength.

Upholstered seat pad
The upholstered seat pad has a two layers of foam for added comfort.

Stackable Design
Chairs can be stacked up to 4 high.

Spring system in seat
The internal frame in the seat created an engineered comfort that is unexpected in a traditional timber chair. The steel frame has the King postureflex and spring system. 25-year steel frame warranty.

Removable seat cover
The upholstered seat cover can be easily removed to be cleaned or upgraded when it becomes worn.

Maintenance Tips

Natural materials like timber are vulnerable to expansion and contraction from changing temperatures. King recommends placing timber furniture away from direct sunlight to avoid warping and discolouration.

Do not use any chemicals, detergents or any product containing silicon to clean timber veneer.

Once a month use a proprietary brand of furniture polish to protect the surfaces and nourish unsealed timber.
