CHARGING SHELF Troubleshooting
Problem: Mobile phone not charging.
Solutions:
Please check that the device supports wireless charging. Refer ‘Device compatibility’
section below.
2. Ensure that the phone software is up to date with the latest software version. Please
update and restart your device to ensure updates are completed.
Sometimes if the device is not restarted, the software changes may not update.
IPhone 12 has been known to have this issue.
3. If the phone is still not charging. Move to Step 4 or Step 5
Â
If the phone is not charging:
4. Does the red indicator light flash on when the table is plugged in?
The indicator light turns on only for 2 seconds when the table is first powered on.
This can help to locate the ideal spot on the surface for charging.
Keep the device on the table for at least 2 seconds for wireless charging to recognise
device.
Orient the phone vertically over the light which is generally better in locating the
charger on a larger surface area. The more central the device is on the table (above
the charging plate), the better.
5. If the indicator light does NOT flash on when you plug in table then the issue is likely
with the shelf or connection to power point.
The user can turn the power on and off at the main switch and
see if the red indicator light flashes on.
Check all connection points to power supply.
NB* Remove phone cover/case as sometimes this may inhibit the charging function.
Â
*If you have attempted all of the above and the issue is still not resolved, please contact
the Customer Service Department for a resolution.
Â
Device Compatibility:
Â
If the device is Qi enabled, these will be compatible with the charging tables.
Â
Due to the frequent changes in tech, we don't have a compatibility list for all the devices
you can use on our charging tables and the user will need to obtain a charging accessory to
enable charging from another provider
Â
Please note the position of the internal phone wireless coil location is different from phone to phone as shown below. For the best charging results the phones needs to be placed in alignment with the table charging location.
For the best charging results the phones needs to be placed in alignment with the charging shelf charging area.
Miscellaneous
Speed of Charging:
The speed of wireless charging depends on the device compatibility.
Some phones support faster charging capability than others. King SMART tables
provide 15W of power (Orders placed after June 7th, 2021. Previous charge capability
was 5W.)
E.g.: Apple has 7.5W while some versions of Android can support the full 15W of
power.
Each device has a specification of compatibility: 5W, 10W, 15W - which refers to the
speed at which it can receive.
If the phone only has 5W capability, that is the speed at which it will charge.
NB* Apple have capped their maximum speed to 7.5W for non-apple wireless
chargers.
2. Some phones will not charge is they overheat. Please check that the device is not
overheating before placing on charger
