The Directors Chair is a classic product typology that has been produced for centuries. Most existing designs follow a similar structure and assembly method. We have designed a new interpretation of this traditional product by embedding the KING product design values. The front leg, rear leg and armrest are made as a single, strong part. Using a custom designed Aluminium extrusion with seamless curves across all the surfaces. The cross-brace structure is a distillation of the traditional Directors Chair frame design. Taking advantage of the strength of mild steel we have made a simple structure that frees up the space underneath the chair for a user to sit comfortably. With an intelligent assembly method, we eliminated the need for any visible fasteners. We maintain an effective open and closing operation with precision manufactured components controlling all tolerances.
