RECLINER

King Cloud V chair 900 Module: Foam = 11.77% of total material cost. Mostly only Fabric change for price reduction from Cloud. - DK okay with this.

  • More resolves on pattern and seat comfort- once we get it- assess it as improvements since flock have been made.

  • To update: footrest mechanism cover- alternative fabric (air freight to showrooms), first sample in GL now, get a video of how to install onto frames for service techs (Dom makes it before holiday).

  • KingCinema: mechanical “push start” buttons version. Timeline for release on these- first off tool sample due in to GL. Make first prototype on 700 model, early Dec hope to verify pilot run by end November/early Dec. That would determine waiting for flock prior to release. Issue encountered with buttons being too hard to press comfortably, trying interim solve in GL now, hope for result on this in afternoon, determine if this will work prior to exploring back up options and following with DK. Still need confirmation from commercial on release plan with or without flock- Autumn is soonest flock option if we can convince business to wait. (Suggest early NSW flock get shipped for training video.)

  • KingCinema as Leon Chair replacement - meeting set for GL discussion next week, and the CAD being assessed by Dom of Leon Chair now - next week. Dom do two sketch mock ups of 700 cinema chair and Leon morphed into Cinema for convo with DK. Put forward stressless power concept as third option- longer development time.

  • Design led document to explain to staff in the business completed by Dom, passed to marketing. Email to Kirsty/Michele cc Ben, Sarah and Marian. Has been sent straight out as is, brand made no changes yet.

  • Get Hussain started Tier 1 Product info sheets

    • Compliance for Classic model needs 4 weeks- not started until confirmed

    • SGS sample needs 4 weeks (low risk) Shiyang’s team has made 1, they need 4, he’s enquiring with SGS as to whether they can use hardware alone or whether production needs to make sure- Shiyang will confirm the start date of testing (not worried about locations apart from AU, US and UK as they require it which 4 weeks fits into lead time.)

    • plan to start production on this option in 2449. Confirm with NPI team whether we release with or without flock.

    • Shiyang will order 400 pc after Alinta confirms sitting on it on Friday DELAY_ resample today

  • CAD for rectangle MC- sampling with Sheng (then brief back into Cylindo- send shortly ) First version failed (too wobbly up down)- urgently communicate with GL for fix. Inform Hussain of status for wiki/ campaign kit update. New sample hoped by Friday By Dom’s holiday we’re deciding to make rectangle MC in old style while solving it.

  • Spare parts document, briefed Hussain who will work with Adam Awaiting Sheng.

  • Lumbar support option

  • Massage feature option- start with vibrating option- order in a big true massage sample for size comparison.

  • Heating Feature option

  • Cooling Feature option

  • App Functionality

  • need to set meeting with DK for scope- after Dom’s research trip, Dom feels like it’s not a good enough massager without compromising on comfort to include it.

  • Order in parts for prototypes - parts arrived, ask GL to show on screen what they’re like. Then work through next steps to put into existing product, or re brief the concept. Discuss with Shiyang. Travel to GL to assess the product if it works.

  • Push Shiyang on starting prototype now, create a check in brief for Tanya to oversee while Dom away

    • meeting on

  • Early March product sign off is our target so that production can be ready to start last week of March. (Check this closer to date). Pricing information fed back to business in January.

  • Order the Zeus seat top recliner

Plateau SOFA Outdoor

OUTDOOR

  • New occasional tables started production, flock started and not finished Dom ask Nok to send order numbers

    • ceramic option ready once the rubber bumpers come in from GL order. (Live for sale )

      • Organise for rubber bumpers to be shipped out to showrooms with instructions as frames were sent without.

  • Sourcing FRP and other options through KFT Purchasing team - purchasing needs a push. In hiatus.

    • also investigating with GL wire mesh from fencing (5mm wire so 10mm total) welded around the top edge with sling cover over the top. (Have to run past DK after sample completed.)

  • Nok trialing DK’s new idea- testing in KFT, also investigating non- suspension methods which are more production friendly than current.- Awaiting Ao’s time in hiatus

  • Soften the seat cushion and Backrests (foam supplier update has contributed to firmness) -. Assessed the current construction - seat dome went missing, so increase the layer to match initial design preference Made one sample which was softer but not soft enough. dominic.harrison discuss with Shiyang if it can be softer still, also discuss with Michele/Therese if there’s room in margin for getting more expensive to be softer. Consider back rest softer too.

  • UK add in non-drain through with UK indoor foam for OD- IF confirmed (likely not needed)- Update collateral NPI (product info sheet- wiki etc)- follow up Chantelle for whether orders were if not- can push to later. IF orders need to have customer aware of the change in fabric options. Removed from sale.

HORIZON BED RANGE EXTENSIONS - GRAND AND STORAGE BED

  • need a new SKU for headboard as it looks bad raised up yet the storage tub and tube attachments are different to floating bed. Need time for GL to get it right (squeezed right now), so put on list for post spring and reconsider time line Welding bottleneck, consider timeline after it’s passed.

  • Verizon - vertical lines on the bed (make a sample wing when Allan has time for DK’s assessment.) No time promises until 1977 pattern stress is passed.

  • GL to be production ready on agreed list by PW2453.

  • Can’t release in Summer sale due to Cylindo not being ready (and no flock or photoshoot assets).

  • Check if ready when Alinta gets back on 10 January

Post Spring Sale (no flock) at earliest.

SPEAKER BRACKET UNIVERSAL

Adam working on clamp design resolution. No next milestone, Adam will let Alinta know when ready to discuss next.

Improve scoping documentation to better sell to the business.

Work on reducing the tooling costs without reducing scope.

Estimate tooling around 45,000 rmb.

  • Adam to redefine small-end cut off point. Decided not to include Vizio speakers.

  • Check for improved aesthetic options and approx costs then ensure DK’s still on board.

  • Revisiting the design for above new info.

  • Tanya Alinta catch up arvo

Trundle/Horizon Sofa bed

Had briefing chat with DK and Michele- target BOM $400 and 550 AUD. - currently within BOM targets

V1 Prototype costings received - $489 AUD

  1. Raw material (Metal+Plywood+foam+pocket spring)= 700RMB

  2. Powder coating (estimated)=200RMB

  3. Legs (Jasper) =70RMB

  4. Mattress lining material = 200RMB

  5. Back (no change as before)=314RMB (without cost of fabric)

  6. Covers = 500RMB??? Maybe

Dom put together 3 options for DK, including trundle concept (with market disruptor upgrades), cheap finger slat option and Oscar upgrade (maybe not fall to Dom)- just for strategy conversation.

Start with 800 x 2000 size first (EU KING when open) for first prototype. (Maybe smaller AU Queen (1520 x 2030) as an option too). Start CAD tomorrow. Order steel tomorrow.

DK mentioned thinner mattresses might look neater. He also thinks that the Horizon bed style is the more saleable.

Duplex = 170 euro vs Oscar mech = 114.85 euro. (DK doesn’t like anymore and too pricey).

Sedac BQ EZ mech from local china supplier = 350 rmb or 650 rmb for mech + frame.

Assessed mech in person in GL, sending to TU now in container.

Shiyang wants to have Li Shu as a resource only if Sedac can’t offer to our requirements. We don’t have high confidence on this.

DK confirmed deep seat to make a Queen from a one step slide forward, rather than a 2step slide out. Preference to develop own mechanism 2050mm for sleeping normally rather than sideways.

UNDER BED LIGHTING KIT

  • Under bed light option- functionality sample to arrive Monday new dates after that.

  • Kirsty is aware of it not being ready to sell for Spring.

    • Not ready for Spring release, but will be transferrable to other products.

    • (hard to quantify timeline) - wait for return of quote from supplier before committing to timeline.

  • Project team is set together Dylan, Shiyang and Alinta. Dylan/Shiyang taking current lead for now, sending parts to suppliers.

  • Cost price estimate set by Dylan at $38 AUD, a little high for now, but something to start and assess as we go. -

  • Guangzhou supplier can’t work with us direct. Need to figure out alternative plan.

    • Will use existing GL supplier, pushing out review until at least (GL capability dependent)

CABANA

Change to threaded part OR button/live hinge for the elastic end caps on the Shade cloth poles. (Commercial had a customer where they keep coming loose.)

  • Consider Pergola and swing

  • Kahn and Sebastian ordering in curtain fabric to test new shade method. Unknown on delivery time just yet. Shift to new year.

  • Teak look ceramic for shelf. Sample pieces en route to TU

  • More CS issues- look at in KFT- ran out of time. Clean up production area in KFT and see if it’s improving things, also analyse CS data on return to office.

  • Shiyang measured frame, to make Weatherguard in GL when quiet.

  • DK 4/12/24 agreed to adding vents in shade cloth

DUNE BEDSIDE TABLE/Case Goods

  • Plan to

    • Then Ask Jiashun for updated quotes based on the 2 drawer and single drawer option.

    • Analyse cost down opportunities on this product through JiaShun including

      • Melamine timber painted panel on rear

      • Cheapest (with longevity option) on the underside hidden under screwed on top finish Ask jiashun to advise here (no marble requirement for top)

      • create a timeline for possible release (relying on Arsalan for transport components)

      • Range extension development - be guided by Aspen and Dainelli range currently on offer plus a tall boy

      • Costing targets received from Michele, check if current costs meet this. Landed Cost target: maximum $305-$350

      • Consider a stowaway product in this range (bar/dresser/desk chameleon)- new year

  • Hold off registration (need cost comparisons for different construction methods) but ensure prior to cut off date.

  • Alinta to review Jiashun quotes. by Direction comes from this.

  • DK approved quote to proceed with flock 3/12/24.

DELTA AND JASPER COAST TRANSFER TO KFT

Ben decided to let KFT start making Delta and Jasper Coast 24/10/24

  • Which product takes priority- Delta Coast first.

  • Source components in KFT and buy from China any unavailable.

  • Order golden sample for KFT (after skirt decision)

  • DK agreed to heavy rope+zip+velcro skirt. 3/12/24

  • style guide for logo placement on injected products (work with Harry for this) - NEW YEAR

MALABAR CERAMIC

  • Need to rollout to King Cove and Quay Console to help use up offcut stock, otherwise supplier will increase prices on Quay dining tables.

  • GL to let Alinta know on timings.

  • Add to powder coat options in Quay for now. Consider having timber veneer solution in the future. (NEW YEAR)

CERAMIC - ‘PAPERBARK’ NEW TRAVERTINE

  • Shunhui travertine monument, issho, samples arriving GL15/11/24.
plus one sheet for Rodney and Ryan’s VM tables.

  • Need flock ordered prior to Christmas for Autumn sale.

  • Add to Issho range in new year - figure out timings.

CERAMIC - TEAK TIMBER

  • Potential use - Plateau sofa and dining, King Cove, Morpheus,

  • Must have a frame around the edges, should not look directly at body edge.

  • Prototyping but DK keen

CERAMIC -WHITE MARBLE + RED MARBLE

  • Potential use - Quay,

  • small pieces in container on way to TU

  • Prototyping on Olive for large pieces (although looks nicer with timber)

OLIVE RANGE EXTENSIONS

  • DK signed off on olive occasion range extensions drawings 04/09/24.

  • need to fix stability before proceeding.- with GL.

  • Follow up with GL (Alinta provided plan to Shiyang and Pan)

Non-Storage Storage Beds

DK wants to offer cheaper non-storage option on all our storage beds.

  • Does Serenade need it as we offer sleep plus?

  • Cheaper for slats- so continue with Delta method.

  • Green light from Shiyang, since no new items and most of the work will be on Pricing team.

  • Park until Marian confirms sizes. - Wait until Delta scope is rolled out.

CASSIA BED

To Do:

  • CAD work to hand over to welders. Speak to Phil today first to confirm good foam techniques.

  • Cassia bed, has wrapping headboard around the mattress, CAD for headboard complete- add smart pocket locations and weld up when break in Cassia schedule.

  • Using Reo leg for front of Cassia bed (new name). Figure out height.

  • No time yet! Next year list? Tanya Rechberger

Re-design and revision. CAD ongoing and will make sample from CAD estimate completed CAD: , afterward tooling and off tool sample KFT Busy for now, no updates until GL completes their part and passes back. Still awaiting the GL updates, needed to reach out to Sebastian to understand updates.

  • GL samples not approved yet, Sebastian hopes to approve Chair, Sq corner and items before Christmas, but need full range produce-able in China before release. (need arms etc)

  • Work with Shiyang to get full low back range into GL first and then high back range ( later after the release. Shying to confirm the sourcing quality teams readiness

  • Arrange for T113 alternative in Thailand for production.

  • Outdoor not yet due to aluminium issues in China.

  • Awaiting approval of other items following chair approval (pending that it works with the rest of range pieces.) Chat with Shiyang about comparing the Thailand versions to the GL versions.

LEATHER-

  • Ao did a chair and corner in leather, but as a cohesive unit DK’s not happy yet. Need to talk to DK to see where his head’s at. Not doing anything until DK brings it up again, as DK not happy with them not fitting side by side. No update, awaiting time and prioritising.

  • Assess GL white frames after update to see if they can used shared bases as DK suggested doing multiple versions, such as bottom edges being rounded (add plywood pieces etc).

CONTOUR

  • sample of curve underway, 1 str is 15 degree contour completed in foam.

  • 2 str and 1 str in container on way to Australia estimate due Delayed by container damage and return to KFT.

  • Don’t commence jig until we are ready to produce.

  • DK wants to trial a smaller circle format as the current angle version is quite large. Prototype in TU and have further discussions. Try cardboard cut on floor for conversation.

      • consider having different height settings for the different mattress heights.

        New DK note to Tan,

  • Maintain flex mech

    • No need to include up down

    • Don’t have back horizontal back bar, use back as the horizontal

    • Sunken bed - that can raise and lower to different heights as desired to designer- possibly too difficult need to assess the mechanism

    • Can motorised bed sheets go on the bed when upright? i.e. can we use that for bedmaking position in a sunken bed? Go to showroom if they have one

    • Add other headboard options the base - Horizon and Verizon first solution.

  • Mech sample to get to GL - arrived. Making sample in GL and can then assess the frame.

  • When sample is complete, check if lower legs motion bed mech can have sheets replaced in this product when upright. (Overall check all features for compatibility.)

  • Issue with leg, potential of making frame in house. Frame leg interfere with tub. but make in house could cost more initially as we don’t have tooling and volume per supplier does. - Consider if a leg could be custom made to fit into the existing tubs.

  • Larger ottoman - maybe storage- pause

  • light bracket- pause

  • Get GL to trial stretchy fabric - add gusset to tempest sample, do base for it too. - To ask DK - it’s done but we don’t think it looks that great.

  • New backrest foam shape - Discussed with DK, he wants to push it forward, but there is no room left. Possibly heighten backrest as well- no update since Delta Coast work on when Zara is in GL. Awaiting yuan time

  • Quality issues have come through from team- going through a sample product at each production stage to try to locate possible issues. Our high dimensional accuracy requirements are causing issues for the tube bending supplier, and we are searching for a new supplier.

    • Consider adding more QC checkpoints along the production process, after finding the problem areas

      • Checked on the line, have some improvement ideas, sampling new frame idea.

    • Assessed and evaluated entire production process, will test a new sample with minor changes to try to rectify above issues. Sample before committing, but Win is keeping Quality engineers informed. Actively worked on now.

    • Yuan made a timber border sample for storage. Unsure- get cover on and assess in GL. Also assess price as it is quite a lot of overkill.

NEW curved Arm Sofa Bed (Orlando)- HIGH

    SOFA BED

    • ON HOLD UNTIL BACKREST CONFIRMED first prototype assessed by DK, he likes form. 2nd prototype of lumbar concept due for completion

      • add some extra dacron on arm outside and front border.

      • fix steel problem on arm top. ON HOLD. Weld over the break. Consider balancing the complexity with the details.

      • Can we improve the catching cushions on front border? Investigate.

      • Also try to add more comfort in the back cushion area. (Move frame backwards on the lumbar unit.)

      • Luidice Mechanisms- ordered a wide mechanism-

      • Target landed cost from Michele received - super low. Consider if Sedac mech is high enough quality and strong enough savings for us.

        • Rebecca sent the analysis of Oscar BOM, Kim to see what he’s learnt from it (Compare with BOM analysis of new frame)

SAMPLE ASAP: Next step would be to design new back rest part to be welded, foamed and covered by the team to asses this as a ‘final’ of the first prototype. Then revised prototype would be made to test all modifications before handing over to GL

Sedac mechanism reviewed and currently at GL - Due to shortage of L mech no production was happening of Oscar frame, so review in situ is on pause until Shiyang can prioritise this. Still awaiting Oscar in production at GL.

    Still to do in future:

Direction 1 - thicker more vertical bolster, lower

Direction 2 - oscar style knock-in lumbar support, with shape from current frame. (TO REIVEIW)

need to resolve bottom cushion becoming stuck on open / close

    DINING

Using existing size with extended legs works brilliantly, explore bracing requirements while hopefully not reducing stackability for shipping

Trade team want Bar height too, stackability not important for them

Send a drawing package to prototype to Cecco

      • trial soft end of pin on Cassia (confirm elasticity is similar to Amara)

      • Also explore timber aesthetic (and solving install solutions) vs pin aesthetic.

Samples are completed by Cecco, being delivered to GL this week. They will trial the metal frame knock in as a first step, if this poses issue we will explore non stacking timber version
Prototype of this ready to review - Expect to complete

      MILESTONES:

Brief - portable, charging, ip rated, fabric integration for softer feel. DK confirmed wants plug in charging.

Tested base light vs column light- preference for base light but need to prove that taller 750mm range expansion will be possible down the track, using 3D print and higher lumens.

Worked through construction solutions for assemblability - will model awaiting Coffey’s responses and quotation estimates.

date DK meeting confirm charging near house rather than in garden space. Plug in charger.

Wifi compatibility decided due lower cost, as well as fixed on/off switch with Pallino operation capabilities.

Mina made a document with the pros and cons of KING App v white label app. Will show DK and get his opinion on whether to push forward.

Received costs and tooling timelines for current design from INFINITELUX

Meeting with DK and Michele today to review tooling costs, BOMs and lead times

Review sample parts received from INFINITELUX. Complete any production documentation to confirm our specifications. LED chips update to try to use the existing lenses from InfiniteLux range to save on tooling times and costs.

Awaiting responses to questions from Coffey who has been unwell in hospital.

Coffey has returned from hospital, suggesting 5 hours for use before recharging, we still feel 10 hours, with 8 at a minimum. The app if we have Flos quality with Casambi is $30 which is not feasible investigating the $2 option with Tuya.

Coffey understands 10 hour battery brief- likely pushing ahead with Tuya App.

Casambi and Tuya analysis by Coffey (Tuya tested by Mina on another light). Result- Use Tuya- cheaper and suitable.

Ask Coffey what’s required to start process with Tuya- they manage whole thing. InfiniteLux also manages updates and communication on our behalf. 10K initial set up cost, $2k per year. $2 US per module.

      TO DO:

Test new LED batch ideas when sent from Coffey- 2 different light options. Tall stem version would need to be prototyped first- but not preferred option. Preference is no tooling just use the lens they have in stock (after looking at the options)- only available for single size

Meeting with Michele/DK, they have asked following:

      • Tuya app- has universal compatibility with Siri and Alexa- Coffey confirmed yes.

      • MOQ- can it be combined into all three (2000 of all pieces together rather than each) Confirmed yes it’s possible but price saving won’t be much. Coffey sent through confirmation email

Then come back together and meet with Michele who will be searching for competitor products in new year.

Michele, sourced a suitable purchased light and Jordan thinks it might be InfiniteLuxe, has reached out to him to ask, Coffey responded, responding again to Michele with info collated from previous emails/meetings in response. send

      MILESTONES:

      Production documentation shared with Shiyang

Received complete BOM. Need to reduce cost to meet target. Also have BOM with stainless steel cross brace for strength if required.

      Extrusion tools complete

Mina completed lounge chair, foot stool, counter stool and barstool CAD; to be sampled at later stages.

Strength tested sling at TU. 150KG for 1 month with no damaged seams. Fabric stretched in some places.

Engaged Richard at GL to help with sourcing comparable mesh for sling.

      Injection moulded parts received

Testing bending parts with external supplier before investing in new machine- better bend from latest supplier received.

Sample covers made in basic KS fabric and texteline mesh- multiple have been made now.

Mina at GL this week. Send DK update and questions for him to review.

Received costings for mild steel cross (and SS) brace version and 5000 pc version. - Will show DK to confirm the Mild steel is still the directive then pass on to retail team and start conversation regarding how to manage supply and pricing.

DK responded unexpectedly to the pricing for SS vs mild steel (no firm decision), we are still preparing for both solutions to be an option. Has provided some guidance re titanium option for premium chair.

DK has clearly defined the differences between the 2 chair options. Standard and Pro version. King badge instead of large is universal, looking at large silk screen king for gifting purposes only.

      Sourced titanium parts.

after new bag sample DK wants a tighter fit- will resample this week and ensure it’s very easy to put chair into bag. Completed and easy to install.

SS chair sample arrives in TU this week Mina to trial other knock-in solutions from DK.

New middle cross bar knock-in pivoted to considering mild steel Zaza tube- need to make a new size centre pin if we use this tube. Consider metal pin solution with beautiful tolerancing.- Bushing solution to explore- no room for bushing.

Assess the metal on metal powder coat chipping concerns and address. Foot knock-in updates included in this and cross sleeve knock-in solution, discuss with DK today

Assess the chair with DK to go through the items.

sample assembled, Mina to discuss bushing with GL team- so far not possible, rattling occurring but only when folded up. Decision still open for this depending on SS or MS. (DK leaning towards mild steel.) - Bushing not required.

Mina machined teak arm inserts for DK’s Maianbar chairs in time for shoot

Tool updates all completed, some changes after assembly line production were put through by Mina. Flock air freight orders made and sent to stores.

      TO DO:

      1. Check the latest tool changes for tension rod knock-in. Testing different cut outs before modifying tool.

      2. (Fabric arm wrap method in production now.) Sent CAD model for quotation, received the quotation, not started yet. (Shiyang sense checking with Yuan)

      3. Quality document (based on flock review) for the existing chairs, completed by Mina. Outdoor glue and tape options are already in production available, will test the best option for adhering fabric to plastic before introduction. Shared with all relevant parties.

      4. Underside leg addressing gap between knock-in and tube due to inaccurate cutting - trialing a new knock-in high.

      5. Prototype the changes DK requested on current chair in TU. Will need to modify an existing chair to trial. Currently don’t have a chair available unless marketing team confirms that they don’t need it this week. Might have to wait until shoot is complete (7th Feb) Upright moved to extreme outside edge of backrest (mina concerned about welding and cover protruding), and rounded front of seat, and trapezoid angle of the uprights.

      6. Spare parts which requirements (covers and work out which components), and document for CS and techs. Chat to Adam about how to update Mina’s document to the newer version.

      7. Moving onto new outdoor chair (Pro option with Titanium is currently canned.)

        1. GL made weatherguard fabric bag sample as per DK’s request- sample completed, looks a bit weak- DK trialing making the chair lighter by incorporating lots of Aluminium. Can’t assess strength yet (initial DK sit was strong) but need further testing after CNY.

        2. Checked the big weatherguard for Quay table- didn’t work make a new one for Quay table products. Consider a top over one for heavier folded chairs. Not for Plateau dining table currently. (Can fold chairs and put under table on benches for now.)

        3. Teak arm cover design sent to KFT timber supplier (providing we send them the teak), confirmed suitability for factory. Mina pushed Frank, he responded over Christmas break with 500 pcs. So we have a reasonable supplier. Order the samples- Frank received with issue asked to send but still haven't received. ON HOLD while solving the chair updates (as arm shape might change).

        4. Titanium off the table for now. DK’s idea changed to reducing arm extrusion by 3 mm, altering cross braces to aluminium on their sides, (too weak), reduce the cross rail at the bottom to 20mm from 25mm. Also raise the stainless steel rod to touch the seat side rail when open (for extra support.) - First sample worked, but has issues to resolve. How to join neatly and consistently, checking with weights if it is actually strong enough, can lower inner front to back tube fit inside the outer one because of deforming from welding? Check BOM price as this will increase from mild steel. Need advice from the current Aluminium supplier.

          1. Semi update on BOM pricing, but no labour and difficult to understand- ask Zoe to clarify the current increase/decrease in costs for better clarity.

          2. Still awaiting return of supplier from holiday before we can have further update on strength and labour costs.

Chasing Shiyang (Zoe left), awaiting answers on the stainless steel test, still no update on when it’s being received. No update until this test completed as all other tests (including higher grade Aluminium failed. Awaiting response from Shiyang.

Doesn’t show the form of bending back around human form, perhaps add hard form to represent this. (Heat gun didn’t work, will have to do 3d printed or similar or hard foam wedges.)

      2. figuring out backrest covering issues, to make it work well with all fabric and leather thicknesses.

Advice from DK was rotomoulding for now- start on CAD and get quotations (do this later) and prototype the plastic. Do a rough BOM from Seymour chair BOM. Delay until after return.

SOLAIR LIGHT - POCKET ACCESSORY WITH DIAL

      LIGHTING

      MILESTONES:

Seen video of new off tool sample. Awaiting complete sample in each colour for final review and to use for photography. Need to see physical sample before placing order- Coffey sent one in black only.

BOMs sent to pricing team. awaiting feedback. No confirmation on it being a viable product.- Reminder to Michele and pricing team sent

After approval from TU of physical samples Infinite Luxe ready for PO.- This was delayed due to issues with the sample joint hinge at bottom of light (hinge issue not a problem anymore- Coffey confirmed).

Received the sample in black, everything approved apart from critical hinge at bottom which wasn’t strong enough- feedback provided to InfiniteLux was that it was a prototype issue using non machined parts and production is guaranteed. All other items of design completed.

hinge functionality fixed and proven by supplier.

      TO DO:

Confirm colours. Prototype Myco Bronze and White/salt colour coat with Coffey. First round failed, have sent physical swatch samples to help InfiniteLuxe match more closely. Still trying to colour match with powder coat at infinite lux- Air freighting to TU.

      NPI into SAP underway

Once purchase order is placed (have invoice ready to pay), inform the business of production readiness PLANNED dates (InfinuteLux is often delayed).

Pass on invoice to Jack and Michele to allow them to peruse the MOQ and go ahead with invoice (colour split variation decision can be later). Send over the white light and (bad version) of bronze powder coat version to Australia for our perusal. Check with Michele if Earth needs to be pursued further Colour conversation with Michele then pass on to Coffey. Awaiting Michele response.

Check how they are on matching Earth colour. (Send Myco Bronze colour sample and chip if they don’t have yet.)

      HELIO PENDANT

      LIGHTING

      MILESTONES:

DK meeting happened to review supplier complete samples. Would like Team Tarmac to develop modular version of this product.

Mina and Jordan explored range plan of all modular components.

Mina developed straight universal connector to be used across modules. DK happy with solution.

DK only concern is there are too many suspension cables. When we handover the production documents with the supplier we will ask if the suspension cables can be removable if not in use.

Mina completed production documentation of modular components

Mina completed electrical specification for modular components

      Concerns for this project:

      1. Weight of large configurations may be too much for some ceilings?

      2. Will we need to design and develop a configurator website?

      3. How can an electrician position all of the mounting points on the ceiling for a custom configuration?

      4. Installation on slanted ceilings?

      5. Installation around other utilities in a ceiling?

      TO DO:

Share production documentation for modular components with INFINITELUX. Maybe wait until Firefly development is complete? Assess where Firefly is up to next week and consider sending.

Find out if DK is okay with releasing non-modular before modular. Awaiting Coffey availability.

Awaiting Coffey on costs breakdown so we talk to DK about options (none preferred yet) on weight reduction in order to push the fixed light project ahead. Straight costs are received, costs are high, but product is quality. Costs for material of extrusion, price is reasonable now we might save approx $1.30 if we reduce weight which wont reduce the whole cost dramatically. Plastic would introduce other issues and not save dramatically. (Aluminium tooling has already been completed.) Rounded light costs due next week, will pass on to Michele after receipt of these.

Height adjustability: to confirm if adjustable height on this model. InfiniteLux has tested the 2x simple hand adjustable version, it is very smooth to operate and lines up just fine. We didn’t want to spend the money on the electric up down with multi points ($17k). So now do we utilise the hand operating up down or push ahead with single point and electric? Speak to Coffey about why one side kept catching and not working, and can we improve the ceiling box in any way?

Sent the round light BOM costings (and operating video) to pricing, response came through. They thought it was doable. Received costs, pricing team has responded saying preference to reduce costs 15-20% on round forms. Mina will pressure Coffey for price reduction.

Check with Coffey that the leveling issue from the sample is not due to our design, but rather a quality issue. - He confirmed it was due to our design and will continue to occur which rules out manual up -down mech for multiple join points, leaving only round with a single cable point. Price up the auto mech with single point for round only. - and have a conversation with DK and Michele about the viability of the product in the range and whether to continue. (Not for modular.) Up - down manual feature was a fail. Round light could have a motorised feature (up to single point), but we’re not sure on pricing- scour emails to try and find one.

If we want to go ahead with Helio order as is, MOQ from supplier has been dropped to 200 pcs per size.

Ask Michele, if we want to go ahead with fixed light version. (The manual mech was as good as it’s going to get.) including 17K for up down electrical version without guarantee it will function. -Need to have chat with DK about project validity without up-down feature.
